Lu Rufino Wins Exclusive Magazine and Inaugurates New Editorial Product from TOK
With 28 pages dedicated to her journey, the publication was launched during the TOK Protagonists event in Rio de Janeiro, and presents a new format for immortalizing life stories.
Entrepreneur Lu Rufino was chosen to inaugurate the Exclusive TOK Magazine, a new editorial product from TOK Entrepreneurship Magazine, presented during the TOK Protagonists event, held on September 28th in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. With 28 pages entirely dedicated to her journey, the publication brings together photographs and accounts of a path marked by overcoming challenges, entrepreneurship, inclusion, and representation. A wheelchair user and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, Lu transformed difficult experiences into new paths and opportunities. Her phrase, "By losing the use of my legs, I gained wings," translates the strength of a story that now has an entire magazine dedicated to it.
“If you are a woman who doesn’t fit on a cover, be a magazine.” Lu Rufino’s phrase took on special meaning during the launch, when she received, browsed through, and autographed copies of the publication. Unlike conventional editions, where the protagonist occupies the cover and a few pages, the TOK Exclusive Magazine dedicates all its content to a single story, allowing for in-depth exploration of experiences, achievements, and transformations. The aim is to transform life stories into records that can be kept, shared, and revisited over time.
Conceived by the TOK ecosystem, led by journalist Mônica Figueira, the Exclusive Magazine was created for women, men, couples, and other protagonists who wish to record their stories in a personalized publication. The number of pages and the editorial project are defined according to each individual story. With this new feature, TOK expands its role in communication and the valorization of real stories, uniting journalism, memory, and protagonism. Lu Rufino joined this story as the first protagonist of a format born to show that some journeys deserve much more than a cover.
