Envigadeña Night of Values 2024: Tribute to Maestro Alex Cuartas

At the prestigious "Envigadeña Night of Values 2024," Maestro Alex Cuartas was honored for his outstanding artistic and cultural contributions, surpassing nearly 100 candidates in this esteemed category. With over 25 years of experience as an educator and artist, Cuartas received a monetary award, a commemorative statue, and the admiration of his hometown, Envigado. 

In his acceptance speech, he expressed pride and a commitment to continuing his artistic and social work. His art, blending fantastic surrealism with local realities, has been exhibited in the Envigado City Hall and significant cultural venues, gaining national and international recognition.

 This tribute highlights not only his artistic talent but also his dedication to social causes through organizations like Arte Sin Fronteras por la Paz, the World Organization of Integrated Artists, and the World Federation of Cultural Managers, making him a role model for his community.

 Alex Cuartas Biography

 Alex Cuartas Pérez (A. Cüpé), born in Envigado, Colombia, in 1974, is a prominent visual artist and art therapist with a 24-year career. Educated at Débora Arango de Envigado and Bellas Artes Medellín, his work spans social themes to surrealism, using various techniques like watercolor, oil, and engraving. He has participated in numerous artistic events locally and internationally. Additionally, he leads art therapy projects for victims of the armed conflict in Colombia and supports the reintegration of displaced people and sex workers in Medellín. Through the cultural association Arte Sin Fronteras por la Paz, the World Organization of Integrated Artists, and the World Federation of Cultural Managers, he has exhibited nationally and internationally, receiving critical acclaim.

 This well-deserved recognition underscores the positive impact Alex Cuartas has had on his city, inspiring its residents and leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Envigado.
